hey guys!

as all of you probably know by now, i am raising money to go and volunteer at Children of Zion Village (COZV) in Katima Mulilo, Namibia. working in Africa has always been something that i have wanted to do and now i finally have the chance to go for a few months and see what it's like. it has been about four months since i applied to volunteer and about three months since i moved up to Maryland to live with my dad and his girlfriend (who have so graciously let me stay at their house for the price of emptying the dishwasher, feeding their dog, Wilson, fixing up my room and helping put in hardwood floors :) ). since that time i have taken a job at a daycare here in this small town of nearly 9,000 people (compared to the 250,000 that lived in greensboro, nc!!) i have been saving up most of my money for my trip to Africa, my storage unit, car insurance, and student loan payments for when i am gone. i am very excited to start this journey and will try to keep this blog updated before, during and after my trip! :)
